Coryphaeus: English-in-Force

Koriphey has a long history of teaching English in the Cambridge format. This approach has proven highly effective: many of our graduates have B2 and C1 certificates, study and teach in English at both Russian and foreign universities. They use English as a language for business communication and in everyday life.

The English language program aims to:

• Develop quality language proficiency, confirmed by international certificates;
• Build strong motivation to use English as a means of communication;
• Enable students to receive education in a foreign language, use it in professional activities, and independently maintain active language skills.

Today, we are going further by implementing our proprietary program - "Koriphey: English-in-Force". It includes three components: Cambridge, Bookr Class & STEAM.

Cambridge

Cambridge University course materials are world leaders in English language teaching methodology. Cambridge Exams are recognized by most universities worldwide. The Cambridge Language Assessment program has proven its academic effectiveness over decades. We add modern, interactive forms to the academic approach. We don't just study the language; we learn through it.

BOOKR Class

BOOKR Class is an interactive educational platform that actively develops reading, writing, and listening skills based on works of modern and classic English literature. More than 1000 engaging animated books, 5000 educational games, and 4000 flashcards help students perfect their pronunciation and develop automatic grammatical skills.

To rapidly develop speaking skills, the “Koriphey: English-in-Force" program uses the Scaffolding technique, which is based on the concept of the zone of proximal development and serves several functions:

• The program reduces (facilitates) the learning of a large amount of vocabulary;
• Teaches task completion through information organization;
• Stimulates the use of a foreign language based on psychological, pedagogical, and historical-literary principles.

BOOKR Class includes 9 levels (corresponding to CEFR) and is an effective tool for developing skills necessary for preparing and taking international and Russian exams.

STEAM Approach in Education

The STEAM approach in English language learning is an innovative methodology integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics into the learning process.

Examples of applying the STEAM approach in English learning:

• Conducting experiments with explanations in English.
• Technical mini-projects and their presentations.
• Project solutions using English terminology.
• Exploring works of art and creating creative products.
• Solving mathematical problems with explanations in English.

The program pays special attention to the development of students' personal and interdisciplinary competencies.

Our teachers systematically enhance their qualifications in accordance with international standards. Many of them hold certificates such as CELTA, CELT-P, CELT-S, CLIL, and TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test), which confirm their high level of methodology.
