I'm an inventor!
Children are the best innovators and inventors! For example, water skis, fur earphones, popsicles on a stick and Braille were invented by children. There is even a special holiday in honour of young experimenters - Children's Invention Day.
A bright open view of the world allows children to come up with the most incredible things. This is what makes Children's Invention Day so special!
At our school ‘Koriphey’ we celebrated this day on 17 January by opening the exhibition ‘I am an inventor’. Why 17 January? Benjamin Franklin, the famous scientist and inventor, was born on this day. Already at the age of 12 he created flippers for swimming, which were put on his hands. His birthday has become a symbol for all young talents who dream of changing the world.
Every year, more than 500,000 children and teenagers invent new gadgets, games and robot modifications. Our pupils were not left behind. A watering cloud for flowers, a cord that ties its own shoelaces, a pillow that tells bedtime stories, and an electric tumbler - this is just some of what our koryphaeans have invented!
