Visit to the Historical Park

The young students touched the ancient history of the Urals.

It is a good tradition of the Koriphey School to go on open-air excursions in September, which are always fascinating and informative. This month pupils had an opportunity to look at the past of their native land from two opposite sides: scientific and mythological.

The first was a trip to the Historical and Ethnographic Park ‘Land of Ancestors’, located outside Verkhnyaya Pyshma. There the guys learned about hunters and fishermen who lived in these places 5000 years ago, looked at their tools, rock painting and even touched giant stones-dolmens built by ancient people, and also took part in a master class on ritual casting!

Our excursionists got no less vivid supernatural picture of the Ural antiquity in the ‘Park of fairy tales. It is a large complex the size of a village, in which entertaining and cognitive components are perfectly combined. The legendarium of the works of the famous P.P. Bazhov is located in the neighbourhood with the characters of Russian fairy tales, so from the cave of the Mistress of Copper Mountain you can go straight to the hut of Baba Yaga, and from there go to the house of Danila the Master.

Both events left a lot of impressions and a valuable load of knowledge about the Middle Urals in the heads of our young coryphees: how our ancestors lived and what looking at the world around us in a more mythological way, they left us their legends and legends, which were then carefully collected by Bazhov, creating Ural tales.
